Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of onofoodtrucks.com and everything we offer through it. "Ono Food Trucks," "we," and "us" mean Ono Food Trucks, based in Hawai‘i. "You" means anyone using the site, whether you are looking for lunch or running a truck.

By using the site, or by claiming or paying for a listing, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

The short version

We are a directory. We list Hawai‘i food trucks, street food vendors, and roadside bake stands so people can find them. Listings are free. Vendors can claim their own listing and keep it current. There is one paid plan, Da Works, at $147 a month, and you can cancel it any time. Hours, locations, menus, and prices change constantly, so always check with the vendor before you drive out. The sections below say all of that in more detail.

1. What Ono Food Trucks is

We publish a directory of food vendors across the Hawaiian Islands, plus events, guides, and vendor tools. We are not a restaurant, a caterer, a food handler, or a delivery service. We do not prepare, sell, or deliver food, and we are not a party to any order, booking, or catering agreement you make with a vendor. That is strictly between you and them.

2. Listing information can be wrong — check with the vendor

Directory information comes from vendors, from public sources, and from people in the community. Trucks move, hours shift, menus sell out, phone numbers change, and stands close for the season. We do our best to keep things current, and we fix mistakes fast when we hear about them, but we cannot promise any listing is accurate, complete, or up to date at the moment you read it.

Before you drive somewhere, call or message the vendor and confirm. If you spot something wrong, email howzit@onofoodtrucks.com and we will look at it.

3. Free listings

Every Hawai‘i food truck, street food vendor, and bake stand we can find gets a free listing. We may create a listing for a business from public information before anyone from that business has ever talked to us. If you own that business and you would rather not be listed at all, email us and we will remove it.

A free listing is offered as-is. We may change how listings look, what fields they carry, where they appear in search results, or how the directory is organized, at any time.

4. Claiming a listing

Claiming a listing gives you control of it: you can correct the details, write the description, add photos, and post your menu. To claim a listing you must be the owner of that business or someone the owner has authorized to act for it. Do not claim a listing for a business that is not yours.

You are responsible for everything posted through your account, and for keeping your sign-in email secure. Sign-in is by emailed link, so anyone with access to that inbox can get into your listing. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access to your account.

Claiming a listing does not transfer ownership of the listing page itself, the directory, or the site to you. It gives you the right to manage your own business information on it.

5. Da Works — the paid plan

Da Works is our paid subscription for vendors. Here is what it includes and how the money side works:

• What you get. Four things. A premium listing on Ono Food Trucks, with your menu, hours, photos, catering button and the ability to post where you are parked today. Your own account in our front-office system, which is where your catering pipeline, online orders, customer list, review requests, loyalty and messaging live. A one-page website, either at your own web address or on one we provide. And a personal onboarding call where we set the whole thing up with you rather than handing you a login and wishing you luck.
• Price. $147 per month, in U.S. dollars, plus any tax that applies.
• Things that run on your own accounts. A few parts of the plan use services that belong to you rather than to us, and those carry their own costs. Text messaging is the main one: it sends from your own business number, mobile carriers require every business to be registered before it can send marketing texts, and the phone and per-message costs are yours. A domain name is the other, if you want your website on your own web address rather than one of ours. We set both up with you on your onboarding call, and we tell you what they cost before anything is switched on.
• Billing. It is a recurring monthly subscription. You are charged when you sign up, then on the same day each month, automatically, until you cancel.
• Cancel any time. No contract and no cancellation fee. Email howzit@onofoodtrucks.com or tell us through your dashboard and we will cancel it.
• What happens when you cancel. Your paid features stay on through the end of the month you have already paid for. After that, your listing reverts to a free listing and the paid extras switch off.
• Your content is not deleted. Cancelling does not wipe your listing, your photos, your menu, or your business details. Features that are part of the paid plan stop working, but the content you gave us stays on your listing. If you want it deleted, ask us and we will delete it.
• Websites we build. If we build you a one-page website as part of Da Works and it is hosted by us, it goes offline when the subscription ends. If it is on a domain you own, talk to us before you cancel and we will work out how to hand it over.
• Refunds. We do not give refunds for partial months or for months already billed. If something on our end genuinely did not work, email us and we will make it right, usually with a credit or a refund. We would rather fix it than argue about it.
• Price changes. If we change the price, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it hits your account, and you can cancel before it does.

6. Payments

Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor. We do not see or store your full card number, expiry, or security code — the processor does, and its own terms and privacy policy apply to that part. If a payment fails or a card expires, we may pause paid features until it is sorted out.

7. Content you post

Photos, menus, descriptions, logos, business details, ratings, tips, and anything else you submit stay yours. You are not giving your work away.

You do give us permission to use it for running and promoting the directory: to display it on your listing and elsewhere on the site, to include it in search results, maps, events pages, guides, our newsletter, and our social posts, and to resize, crop, or reformat it so it fits. That permission is non-exclusive, worldwide, and royalty-free, and it lasts as long as the content is on our site. If you ask us to remove your content, we will, though copies may linger for a while in backups, caches, and anything already sent out.

When you post something you are telling us that you own it or have the right to use it. That matters most with photos: do not upload a photographer's work, a stock image, or someone else's picture of your truck unless you have their permission. Do not upload photos of people who have not agreed to appear on your listing.

We can edit, shorten, reject, or remove any content, at any time, for any reason, including because it is inaccurate, out of date, offensive, or off-topic. We are not obligated to review or monitor content, and we do not endorse ratings or tips left by the public.

8. Ratings and tips from the community

Eaters can leave ratings and tips on listings. Those are personal opinions from members of the public, not statements from us, and we do not verify them. We review submissions before they go live and we remove anything that looks fake, abusive, or like an attempt to attack a competitor, but we cannot catch everything. If a rating or tip on your listing is wrong or unfair, tell us and we will take a look.

9. Fair use of the site

Please do not:

• Claim a listing for a business you do not own and are not authorized to represent, or pretend to be someone else.
• Post anything false, misleading, illegal, threatening, harassing, hateful, or obscene.
• Post fake ratings or tips, whether to boost yourself or to hurt another vendor.
• Scrape, copy, or bulk-download the directory to build a competing list, or resell our data.
• Break into, overload, probe, or otherwise interfere with the site, our accounts, or anyone else's.
• Use the site to send spam or to harvest contact details for marketing.

If you do any of that, we may remove content, suspend or close your account, and stop your access, without a refund.

10. Food safety and allergens

Menus, ingredient lists, allergen notes, dietary labels, and prices all come from vendors or public sources. We do not verify them, and we do not inspect kitchens, trucks, permits, or food handling.

If you have a food allergy, an intolerance, or a dietary or religious restriction, contact the vendor directly and confirm with them before you order. Do not rely on what our site says. Recipes change, kitchens are small, and cross-contact happens. Licensing, permits, and health inspections are between the vendor and the State of Hawai‘i and the counties, not us.

11. Other sites and services

We link out to vendor websites, social accounts, maps, ordering pages, and event pages. We do not control those and we are not responsible for what is on them or what happens when you use them.

12. No warranty

The site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. Some places do not allow these exclusions, in which case the parts that are not allowed simply do not apply to you.

13. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Ono Food Trucks and the people who work on it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost business, lost data, or lost goodwill, arising out of your use of the site — including anything that comes from inaccurate listing information, from food you ate, from a transaction with a vendor, or from content posted by anyone else.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars.

14. Making things right

If something you post or do on the site causes a claim against us — for example a photo you did not have the rights to, or a listing you were not authorized to claim — you agree to cover the reasonable costs and legal fees we run up because of it.

15. Ending it

You can stop using the site any time, and you can ask us to close your account and remove your listing by emailing us. We can suspend or close an account, or remove a listing, if these terms are broken or if we need to for legal or safety reasons. Sections that by their nature should outlive the account — content permissions, warranty disclaimers, liability limits, and governing law — keep applying afterwards.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawai‘i, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts located in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, and you and we both agree to that.

17. Changes to these terms

We will update these terms from time to time as the business grows. When we do, we change the "last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects paid vendors, we will email them about it. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

18. The rest of the fine print

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the site. If any part of them turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. If we do not enforce something right away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to someone else without our written okay; we may transfer ours if the business is sold or reorganized.
